With an all-new rubber compound from Shimano, Ultread combines precisely engineered tread patterns with an advanced proprietary rubber blend to keep riders planted on and off the bike.

Lightweight Ultread XC rubber outsole delivers competition-grade grip and riding performance that lasts. Their MTB cross-country and cyclocross racing formulated rubber is optimally applied with lightweight outsole patterns to maximise performance in dry and wet conditions.

Specially-shaped sections of the outsole provide excellent SPD engagement and traction when clipped out of the pedals.

Durable scaled arch rubber reliably catches the pedals to maintain rider concentration and pedaling stability between clip-ins.

Shimano Dynalast – The toe-spring section of a cycling shoe plays a key role in supporting efficient pedaling. Too high, and it causes increased tension in the plantar, calf, and hamstring muscles. Too low, and you get a bowlegged, inefficient pedaling form. Extensive research by Shimano’s R&D experts has produced a superior shoe last design with an optimised toe-spring section that promotes a smoother, more energy-efficient upstroke. Built based on feedback from pro riders, Shimano Dynalast helps reduce energy loss on long rides, letting you keep more in the tank for that final sprint to the line.
Shimano Pedaling Dynamics (SPD) – SPD is a system that performs whether you’re on or off the bike. It makes pedaling more efficient with a wide variety of shoe and pedal styles and the recess cleat makes walking more comfortable. You can pedal with greater efficiency, stability and comfort with the SPD system.
XC902 – S-Phyre XC902 is an uncompromising cross-country and cyclocross racing shoe light on weight but heavy in features. It integrates many of the technologies pioneered by their premiere road racing shoes in a much more rugged package. They worked closely with their sponsored riders throughout many iterations until they found this optimal fit-performance balance that delivers pro-driven performance in any conditions.
Upper – The construction of their uppers and closure systems are customised to the characteristics of each rider’s foot.
